Interesting Insight into Hamilton
Hamilton City Council’s Community Profiles provide a snapshot of our city’s communities.
Based on information obtained during the 2013 census and the Council’s Community Survey in September and October 2014, the profiles look at 11 specific geographical areas of our city – six on the western side of the river, and five on the eastern side. These mirror the Census Area Units defined by Statistics New Zealand and largely reflect recognisable suburbs within Hamilton. Each suburb is numerically labelled.
Each profile details specific statistics for the area, and compares them to the Hamilton average. They are laid out identically, so users can quickly cross-reference information across the city.
The profiles will be useful to many groups within the Hamilton community and it is hoped that they will be useful to assist in community decision making and programme planning in the coming years. They will also be useful to business units within the Council.
