I became interested in property around 15 years ago, after watching clients make large incomes trading property.

The first two properties I purchased were both trading properties. I have ceased property trading as I found this to be a full time commitment, and now prefer to focus on long term residential properties. We have also purchased one commercial property and hope to buy another. I like the slow and steady approach and want to accumulate more properties over the next 30 years.

At age 24 I set up Coombe Smith Property Accountants in Hamilton. As a property accountant I live and breath property everyday.

My pet hate is investors buying what I call a “lemon” – a property that is costing over $5,000 per year, with low capital gain potential.
